February 2009
Erm, first time variant. Sleepy. Borrowed their copy of Watchmen so I can finally read it. Bedtime now, g’night.
Feb 28th
Lisa managed to beat us all, albeit not by tons. Used a recommended forts time player variant, but Power Grid still went around two hours.
Feb 28th
Spent the night with in-laws. Had dinner, played Power Grid (amazingly), talked about their recent trip and Facebook. Good times, really. :)

Per recommend (sorta) of @bdbdbdbd - picking up Fables: Legends in Exile http://twitpic.com/1qgzo
Feb 28th
Umm… TwitPic is showing a totally wrong picture. Very odd.
Feb 28th
Got my Griffin Clarifi iPhone case. Pic without: http://twitpic.com/1q856 Pic with: http://twitpic.com/1q86h definitely better, not amazing?
Feb 27th
Okay, seriously, that’s funny. I’ll stop now, but seriously, new follower like every time. People with search and automated follow are funny
Feb 27th
Seems like every time I say something like JavaScript or jQuery I get a new follower. So, XHTML CSS DOM PHP Ruby RoR okay I bet that works.
Feb 27th
In JavaScript, function arguments are passed by value if they’re simple string/numeric, but by reference if objects? That’s kinda weird.

This video may be the cutest video ever created: http://tinyurl.com/ajhulb

Sway, a new iPhone game by Illusion Labs - http://www.swaythegame.com/ - absolute blast. Really interesting mechanic. Good stuff. :)
Feb 26th
Sway may even, well, sway my attention away from Tiki Towers. *rimshot*
Feb 26th
Listening to Radiothon 2009 on 100.3 for UNM Children’s Hospital. Donating what I can. If you’re in #ABQ you should too, if you can. :)
Feb 26th
Finally hit the tipping point on this project, where I think the work should be more simple. Translating C++ into VB.NET is *not* fun, btw.
Feb 26th
I’m gonna start using iPity to finish my tweets. Should be fun. :You shove me again and I’ll wrap that gun around yo face!”
Feb 25th
If this isn’t a good enough reason to own an iPhone, I don’t know what is: http://www.appcraver.com/ipity/
Feb 25th
If you use Gmail in a tabbed browser with a lot of tabs, go into Gmail Labs and turn on Title Tweaks - moves “Inbox (#)” to front of title.
Feb 25th
At the Apple store, updating thru the fractured screen, waiting on a “genius” to tell me that my iPhone is busted, and to replace it.
Feb 25th
This image for @bdbdbdbd although I suspect many may enjoy it: http://tinyurl.com/brab8p

Best news of the day: Andy Richter to rejoin Conan O’Brien when Conan takes over ‘Tonight Show’ - Andy will be his announcer! Woo!
Feb 25th
RT @jeremyjojola (regarding colonoscopy video) “would give a whole new meaning to you tube. Okay….too much…” - Don’t know I’d post it :D
Feb 25th
http://twitpic.com/1oa4p - Coworker took a photo of my shattered iPhone (with her iPhone). Not even a two foot falll, face down into asphalt
Feb 25th
On the phone with Apple: $199 to basically buy a new iPhone (would be $299 if I had the 16GB which I wish I did but am kind of glad I don’t)
Feb 25th
I am getting a colonoscopy next week. I am kind of hoping I can get like, a digital copy of the video. Is that weird?
Feb 25th
So, umm, does the iPhone warranty covered shattered faceplaces? Ugh. I am so upset.
Feb 24th
Seriously, I’ve dropped this iPhone several times from that short of a fall and it was fine. This time? I have glass splintering out even :(
Feb 24th
Finally acquired my Dr. Horrible DVD. Haven’t had a chance to actually put it in yet, though. Perhaps I’ll listen in the background at work.
Feb 24th
Apple claims Safari 4 on Windows is 30x faster than IE7 and 3x faster than Firefox 3 (not 3.1). Haven’t tried IE7 claim, but FF3 claim holds
Feb 24th
On top of that, Chrome only used 20MB of RAM versus FF3.1’s fluctuating 75-100MB or Safari 4’s 160MB. Still, neat to see a Safari 4 beta. :)
Feb 24th
Comparing Safari 4 beta to FF3.1 beta and Chrome on Windows, using my JS Canvas-based Game of Life, Safari 4 beats FF but Chrome smokes both
Feb 24th
Random old memes update: “Chocolate Rain” has had over 34 mil views on YouTube, where the first result for Rickroll on Google only has 17mil
Feb 24th
Seeing celebrities on Twitter removes some of the veneer of their status. Some celebs are eloquent, some sound like morons. It’s amusing.
Feb 24th
Don’t know what’s worse: That I’m listening to Dolly Parton covers (via @coverville)… or that I’m recognizing every single one…
Feb 23rd
I have not had immediate suggestions! Twitter has failed me. Alas.
Feb 23rd
I need lunch inspiration - in #ABQ in the Journal Center area. Any suggestions?
Feb 23rd
THIS SNEEZE WILL NOT COME OUT OF MY DAMN NOSE IT IS GOING TO BE THE END OF ME AUGH
Feb 23rd
Kind of considering trying to set up some sort of fund-raising promotional thing in #ABQ with Rock Band. Any players want to donate time? :D
Feb 23rd
We had a mini-Oscar party. Really, just an excuse to have a few friends over. Hoping that the upcoming work week is an improvement over last
Feb 23rd
It seems like suddenly a bunch of people I know are all into UFC. I know squat about it. I know KFC, though. Mmm.
Feb 22nd
Wokimg on sis-in-law’s PC. P3 500MHz, 1GB, Win2K. Doing… odd things. Think it may finally be dying or just plain dead.
Feb 22nd
Getting ready to head out to Tijeras to watch our nephews for the night. Also trying to think of an excuse to run an endless setlist myself.
Feb 22nd
Just got home from a visit to my mom’s home. Her large dog was excited to see me, and kind of peed on my leg while he jumped around for joy.
Feb 21st
I need to wind down a bit - don’t know what to do. Skate 2, Rock Band 2, something on iPhone, WoW, or maybe *not* a video game. Hmm.
Feb 20th
I need to remind myself that I am very very lucky to have a job at this time. I am very, very lucky. I should not run from the building, no.
Feb 19th
Wow, @rainnwilson is on Twitter. Seems like an interesting guy, too. He’s awesome as Dwight and was a great SNL host, so, follow’d!
Feb 19th
Amazon gift cert update: I bought a for-sale-but-still-new copy of Power Grid, a great board game. Amazon Prime trial = arrival tomorrow! :D
Feb 19th
Brain isn’t working quite right today. Taking a stroll outside during my morning break to try and clear it up a bit. Nice breeze going out.
Feb 19th
Enjoying the popup-laden repeat of last week’s LOST with my lovely but sick wife. New episode starts shortly. Dog is in my lap. A good night
Feb 19th
Taking old MFC C++ code from 1999 and updating into VB.NET is… well, kind of painful. I feel burnt out today.
Feb 19th
Since my wife is sick, I doubt I’ll make #ABQWebGeeks - which is sad. However, I really didn’t like that venue, so I guess I’m not *too* sad
